Matthew Wroda
Fifteen year old singing sensation MATTHEW PHILLIP WRODA
discovered his love for music at a much younger age,
when a turn in a first grade musical sparked the fire in
him that would drive him to pursue his dream of a
professional career in the music industry.
“I started singing, like most kids do, in my bedroom and
in the shower,” MATTHEW laughs, “but ever since I
started performing I knew that singing was what I wanted
to do with my life.”
MATTHEW’s fierce determination drove him to develop his
skills year after year in school productions and
eventually his talent impressed the faculty enough to
win him several consecutive starring principal roles.
With the full support of his parents, Jim and Laurie
Wroda, MATTHEW entered a major talent competition in
Florida called Talent Rock, where fate guided him to
make the connection that would soon change his young
life forever.
Shortly after appearing at Talent Rock, MATTHEW was
contacted by a New Jersey-based talent scout who was
blown away by MATTHEW’s performance. Two weeks later,
MATTHEW and his parents were on a plane en route to Los
Angeles for a meeting with a major record label A&R
representative, who asked MATTHEW to sing something
acappella on the spot. Upon returning to the hotel,
MATTHEW received a call that the rep. had liked him
enough to set up a meeting with a personal manager, who
in turn was instrumental in setting up MATTHEW’s first
professional recording session in Philadelphia.
Shortly after the songs were completed, Radio Station
WTGR-FM in Greenville, Ohio invited MATTHEW to be the
subject of a 30 minute on-air interview. It was during
that interview that one of MATTHEW’s biggest dreams was
realized when he heard his own music played on the radio
for the very first time.
“Wow! It was so cool to finally hear my music played on
the air!” MATTHEW exclaims.
Top
40 Radio Station WGTZ in Dayton Ohio also featured
MATTHEW on the “Fresh Music” section of their website,
asking listeners to vote for the Top 4 artists, who
would then be picked to perform at the prestigious Clark
County Fair. MATTHEW was thrilled when he found that the
station’s listeners loved his music so much that he had
not only won a place in the Top 4, he was voted into the
number one spot in the contest.
MATTHEW is currently hard at work finishing up his debut
album. MATTHEW’s new self-released single “Walk On”,
featuring remixes by Chris “The Greek” Panaghi (Celine
Dion, Jessica Simpson, Marc Anthony, Michael Jackson)
Adam Marano (Collage, Rockell, Judy Torres), and
Electrik Pulse (Top 5 Billboard Dance Chart topping
remixer) has already generated a massive nationwide buzz
and is beginning to receive heavy rotation on numerous
high profile stations including Hot 96, 1Club.fm and XM
Radio.
MATTHEW credits his parents for supporting his ambition
and for always keeping him grounded.
“I have been very fortunate to have the support of my
family and the encouragement from them that led me to
work with some of the top music people in the industry”,
MATTHEW smiles.
Having achieved so much at an early age, MATTHEW can
look forward to a long and successful career and knows
that the best is yet to come!
